Digitizing a complex patient-assistance journey from eligibility through ongoing case management
We built a healthcare advocacy platform that helps uninsured and underinsured patients determine eligibility for pharmaceutical assistance programs and manage the application process digitally.
The product replaces complex paper-driven workflows with a guided patient experience and a centralized administrative case-management environment.
The challenge
The original process involved sensitive information, eligibility rules, documents, healthcare providers, pharmaceutical programs, payments, renewals and ongoing follow-up.
The system had to make that process understandable for patients while giving administrators the tools required to review, assign, verify and progress cases.
What we built
- Patient and caregiver registration
- Multi-step eligibility assessment
- Save-and-resume workflows
- Secure document upload
- Online payments
- Medication management
- Eligibility recommendations
- Application status tracking
- Renewal requests
- Secure communication
- Administrative case dashboard
- Document verification and case assignment
- Refill and annual-renewal management
- Audit trails
- Legacy eligibility-system integration
How the system works
Patients move through a guided application process and can return to incomplete applications, upload required documentation and track progress.
Administrative users review applications, verify documents, coordinate with providers and programs, manage approvals and follow renewals from one case-management environment.
Architecture & technology
The platform uses Laravel, Docker and AWS infrastructure, with role-based access, secure authentication, document workflows and integration with a legacy eligibility system.
The architecture is designed around reliability, security and the ongoing nature of healthcare case management.
