Case Study

MXP Labs — Mobile-First Event & Attendance SaaS

The challenge

The application had to support group and roster management, event configuration, multiple check-in methods, participant verification, optional location validation, real-time attendance monitoring, historical reporting, exports and subscription limits.

At the same time, attendees needed to be able to check in within seconds, often without creating an account.

What we built

  • Organizer authentication and account access
  • Group and roster management
  • CSV/Excel participant imports
  • Event builder and verification rules
  • QR code, shared-link and event-code check-in
  • Optional geolocation validation
  • Frictionless attendee workflow
  • Live attendance dashboard
  • Historical reporting and CSV/Excel export
  • Subscription tiers and entitlement logic
  • Stripe Checkout, Billing and webhooks
  • Responsive mobile-first UI

How the system works

An organizer creates an event, attaches participant groups, configures the check-in rules and distributes access through a QR code, link or event code.

An attendee opens the event, completes the required verification and checks in. The backend validates the request, records attendance and updates the organizer’s dashboard in real time.

Architecture & technology

The platform uses a modern JavaScript frontend with React/Next.js and Tailwind, backed by Supabase for PostgreSQL, authentication, storage, row-level security and real-time subscriptions. Stripe manages recurring commercial access.

The architecture keeps public check-in lightweight while preserving strong authorization around organizer and application data.

  • React / Next.js
  • Tailwind CSS
  • Supabase
  • PostgreSQL
  • Row-Level Security
  • Supabase Realtime
  • Stripe
  • Geolocation API
  • CSV/Excel processing
  • QR workflows

Outcome & impact

The result is a scalable attendance product rather than a one-off check-in utility. Organizers can reuse groups, retain history, export records and manage account limits while attendees get an intentionally low-friction experience.

The project demonstrates how several systems can work together inside one focused product journey.
