30,000+ products managed through an API-driven commerce operation
We worked on a high-performance automotive eCommerce platform where the operational challenge was much larger than the storefront itself.
A major part of the project was the deep integration with Turn 14 Distribution, allowing more than 30,000 performance products to be synchronized and fulfilled with far less manual work.
The challenge
Large automotive catalogs change constantly. Product data, availability, inventory, order transmission, fulfillment and tracking all need to stay aligned.
Without automation, the administrative burden grows directly with catalog and order volume.
What we built
- Turn 14 API integration
- 30,000+ SKU catalog synchronization
- Automated product data updates
- Inventory and stock synchronization
- Availability updates
- Order submission and routing
- Automated fulfillment workflows
- Shipment and tracking synchronization
- Order-status updates
- Custom WooCommerce architecture
- Distributor-driven product logic
- Operational automation
How the system works
Product and inventory data is synchronized from the distributor into the commerce platform. When a customer orders, the system coordinates order data with Turn 14 and then pulls fulfillment and tracking information back into the customer/order lifecycle.
This reduces the need for staff to manually maintain products or move order information between systems.
Architecture & technology
WooCommerce provides the commerce foundation, with custom integration and operational logic layered around it.
The project treats the distributor API as part of the core business workflow rather than as a one-time import utility.
- WooCommerce
- Turn 14 API
- Catalog synchronization
- Inventory automation
- Order routing
- Fulfillment automation
- Shipment tracking
Outcome & impact
The platform can support a large and constantly changing automotive catalog without requiring the internal team to manually manage every product, availability change, order and shipment.
The project demonstrates how eCommerce and operational automation can become the same engineering problem.
